Arvore da Vida
TREE OF LIFE

O Programa Árvore da Vida da Fiat Automóveis em parceria com as ONGs AVSI e CDM promotes the social development of the Jardim Teresópolis neighborhood, in Betim (MG). For this, it makes use of socio-educational activities, to generate work and income and to strengthen the community.

The project for the new headquarters favors the integration of people and is in line with the precepts of bio-efficient construction, with natural ventilation, thermal efficiency and reuse of industrial waste. The entrance to the building is a multipurpose and social space, acoustically treated with discarded materials from the production of cars, such as wooden crates, fabric and cardboard. Due to its size, the area is ideal for carrying out collective activities in the Jardim Teresópolis community. This space integrates building, street and sidewalk in a large balcony, which constitutes a tool; for meeting people, for their coexistence and convergence.

The stairs and circulations are visible from the large balcony, to give a better understanding of the whole and avoid corridors and watertight spaces. The building was planned on four floors, the structure of which will house CooperÁrvore – the social cooperative of Árvore da Vida – and more rooms for the programs activities and an auditorium.
