FELICIAN HOUSE

The distant look identifies a cut in nature; the proximity brings the image of a large, comfortable house, with rigorous geometry. These are the hallmarks of the architect Gustavo Penna, who, always consistent with his principles, designed this residence in the Estância das Amendoeiras condominium, in Lagoa Santa, MG, according to his way of thinking about life. “The house is like a blank canvas to be filled in by people”, he says. At the entrance, a monumental portico announces that there reigns peace and the pleasure of living with nature.

In this scenario, the house with 850m² built is facing the rising sun. The L shape (28m x 28m) favors the creation of a large garden square, in addition to the rational distribution of spaces: on one side, the social area, on the other, the intimate wing.

Some great highlights make the difference in this house. The balcony installed in the 10m span and fully open on the sides is one of them. Another highlight is the living space and home theater with a ceiling height of 7m and an acoustic treatment in perforated plaster, composing a volume over the house, which resulted in a great formal effect.

With wind, sun, shadow and moon, the place is ideal for moments of leisure and tranquility. And the L-shape always suggests a big hug, concludes Gustavo Penna.
